Privacy

The short version: the Wines of Texas app has no accounts, no tracking and no advertising. Your trips, your saved wineries and your tasting notes are stored on your own phone and are never sent to us.

The app

What stays on your phone

Saved wineries, trips and their stops, tasting notes, ratings and the record of which booking links you opened are written to your device’s own storage. There is no account to sign in to and nothing syncs. We cannot read any of it. If you delete the app, it is gone — we hold no copy to restore.

Location

If you allow location access, the app uses it on the device to show how far away a winery is and to centre the map near you. Your location is not sent to us and is not sent to anyone else. Declining it hides distances; everything else works.

What the app sends

What the app does not do

Booking and links out

The app never sells wine or takes a booking. When you book a tasting, a table, a room or a ride, the winery’s or provider’s own page opens, and from that point their privacy policy governs what they collect. Your phone notes that you opened the link so the app can show you your own history; that note stays on your phone.

What a winery partner can and cannot see

A winery never receives your identity, your notes or your ratings. If and when aggregate reporting exists, a partner sees counts — how many people opened their booking page — and nothing that could identify a person.

The website

winesoftexas.com uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are read. That is separate from the app, which contains no analytics. You can block it with any standard browser or extension setting, and the site works the same either way.

If you submit a form here — the winery partner survey, or a request to add or update a winery — we keep what you typed so we can answer you. That information is about a business, is given voluntarily, and is never joined to anything from the app.

Children

This is a wine publication intended for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Questions, or a request

Write to corey@winesoftexas.com. Because the app holds no account and stores nothing about you on our side, there is usually nothing for us to delete — but if you have written to us, ask and we will remove it.

If this page and the app ever disagree, the app is the bug. Tell us and we will fix whichever one is wrong.
